I have built several new Logos for Ionic Wind - I like this one the most.

Any opinions?

Hi Larry congrats on new ownership....have to say WOW! that logo is certainly striking..looks pretty damn good to me.

It's bright and eye catching, which is what you want in a logo.

Actually, I don't find it very appealing, myself. For what it's worth. The font doesn't fit the image very well.

Rock Ridge Farm (Larry)

What fonts would you suggest?

ZeroDog

as it turns out, my browser just isnt displaying the png.

Downloaded it, as it turns out, my viewer isnt displaying it correctly....

Perhaps a Jpg?

Doc

Well gee, this is a bit awkward... but I don't care too much for the color/font combination as displayed either.
Sorry Larry.  :-[

What is the intended use... logo and/or favicon for the web site, icon for the software or perhaps something else?

Maybe you can put up all of your samples in one single web page as a point of reference so everyone can get a feel for the look you are trying to accomplish.

Shoot... as a suggestion, there are a ton of talented folks around here that might even enjoy a logo/icon contest. ;)

Is this the new logo for the website and the company or is it the new logo for Ebasic?

If it's for Ebasic I kind of like the existing logo.  Also I put the new logo into a viewer and shrunk it to 64x64 and 32x32 and it's no longer recognizable as what it is.

I think a logo should be simple and direct.

While you're at it; someone needs to design a good one of these.

Consider this a call for designs. Anyone willing to submit a design - put it here.
Once we have collected a few examples we will have a vote to select the new
Ionic Wind logo.

I look forward to seeing input from the list.

Web site logo, product logo, desktop icon?
general size needed?

(it will make a difference)

Edit:
I'm not much of an artist...
...but since I opened my big mouth, I've attached an assortment of images in various sizes.  ::)

definitelyokay

This may not be fitting, but here's something nevertheless.

Rock Ridge Farm (Larry)

I am a bit color blind - I can not make out the detail in the yellow.

I will give a couple mock-up ideas in the morning.

A broad spectrun name "Ionic Wind" is great if your going to Have Multiple products "EBasic , Creative Basic , Aurora etc.." but if you only have the one product and mods/addons for it then its useless and actually detracts from the product. I myself would suggest changing the domain name to "emergence.com"  "EBasic.com" something that when people searcxh for the product name it comes up as the site name as well. the name "Ionic Wind" says nothing about the products provided there. look at other coding languages for examples. the domain usually6 has a passing link to the image of the product provided within. eg: libertyBasic.com purebasic.net blitzresearch.com(Blitz being in the domain name and in the language names). I'm not saying to get rid of "ionic wind" just have it as the company name but also have a domain name that reflects the product even if its just a subdomain to start off with.

Then you can use the logo for the product and alt text. thus increasing the search engine results of the product as well as the domain .. eg: http://ebasic.com/ebasic_screwenshot.jpg or alike mentions the ebasic keyword twice in the one link.

Thats what i'd be sorting out first before deciding on any logo's

Covers many languages including Aurora , IWBasicEbasic (Ebasic, IBasic) , Creative Basic

I can almost read this one - once more - I am old and somewhat color blind.
Could you do this one in more contrasting colors?

Yup - that would work if it were only ebasic.
Creative will remain here - I talked with the owner of Aurora and it will remain here.
So we will have multiple languages here.

Here's a site that will help with the selection of color combinations that work for colorblind people.

Sorry, real life has gotten in the way of me getting on the logo stuff. Hopefully later today or tomorrow I'll have an hour or so to do some digital drawing.
