it is slightly playable now, so i posted it,
the source is for your eyes only!!! beware: it is messy and cryptic.

Techno,

Instead of letting everyone else do the work for you, why don't you just
download Zip Repair Wizard from DiskInternals (highly reputable company)

http://www.diskinternals.com/zip-repair/

I've just used it on the battles.zip in this thread, and it worked perfectly,
and runs on Windows 7

Best of luck,

Brian

Edit: Well nearly! Might not work in all cases!

Brian,

I just downloaded ZIP Repair 1.1. I ran it on the BATTLES.zip above. Although it makes a "recovered" zip, the files in it will not run. Can't load, list, view, the eba file, was only able to read to of the txt files in the "leveldata" subdirectory, cannot view the jpg, etc.

The one I use on my XP did not do any better. But, I'm talking about the one above, on my Win 8.1 64-bit laptop.

Bill

P.S. I just tried it with ZIP Repair on my XP. No good.

Unfortunatelly there was many great examples and programs written in CB/EB over time
but it looks that many of them gone because there is no source  ::)

Hi Aurel,

I can usually find a back-up, but what is happening to damage the files ?

Seems very strange ..  ::)

Tomorrow may be too late ..

I think if you look at the dates on the files they are back when a "certain person" was hacking the site on a semi regular basis.

Hey all,

Do you remember pyxia.com where all this first started? It was IBasic, but good. Paul did a couple of good things. Provide and offline version of the forum for $9.95, which I thankfully purchased, and a
9 MB+ file of 250+ IBasic programs categorized. I think Graham has mention that CBasic can handle IBasic. I mention them in Aurel's behalf.

Paul is going to be away for awhile, but I don't know if I can post the forum file here. It's a little over 18 MB. BTW The forum covers IBasic Standard and Pro versions.

You'll have to get LarryS' approval on that.
