Any examples of kernel modules?

I'm a bit curious on how to write kernel modules for windows, and was wondering if someone could post any examples on how to do it (if it's even possible in EB)?
This is to be able to write simple (not that advanced hardware) drivers to custom hardware developed on the local university here.
