Subject says it all, really!

All of a sudden, I can't start up my IWB. It loads, shows the screen for a second with a double-arrow horizontal cursor, and then shuts down. I've re-installed a couple of times, restarted the PC - no banana

Had a look at Task Manager, nothing running in the background - I'm stumped

It is installed with the Memory Stick option, ie, c:\iwbdev3

Well, after messing about re-installing IWB three times, re-booting twice, running a root virus check, all I did was copy all the files in my backup f:\iwbdev3\bin folder to the c:\iwbdev3\bin folder, and waddya know - it works again!

The worrying thing is, I don't really know what I have done to fix it!

Welcome to fragmented disk problems 
rule 1
if you ,me anyone do work on disk then each month defragment disk
before that clean registry and if you can defragment registry too.

Also ..if you have a lot images which you dont need it dont keep it on C disk
this is also for instaled programs ...

I wonder if the problem was that c:\iwbdev3\bin was in your 'path'.  Go to a DOS prompt and type in SET.  That will show you all the variables set, look for path=.  Which will probably be very long, but check if c:\iwbdev3\bin is in the path.

I checked mine and it is not in mine.  On the other hand there is some stuff in there that I need to remove (old programs I don't use anymore).
