Saving a screen area?

The built-in messageboxes doesn't quite satify my needs. But when trying to roll my own, I ran into quite a challenge...
Therefore, is there a way I can save a self defined screen area, and write it back to the same place later?

Here's a couple of older samples that show how to save a screen area to a bitmap.
They are in IBasic format, but they should still be compatible with CBasic.
