The included JPG file and should shed some light on using bitmaps as a resource.

For this example to compile properly, this folder (ibbrowser) *must* be located directly on the root C drive and the folder should not be renamed.

The resource editor writes the resource file (Resources.rc in this case), which contains all of the pertinent details *including* the path where the resource bitmaps are compiled from.

If you open the RC file in notepad, you can see that the compiler will be looking for the bitmaps to be located exactly where the editor said they would be:

C:\ibbrowser\home.bmp
C:\ibbrowser\print.bmp
C:\ibbrowser\refresh.bmp

Simply put, once you have a resource file setup, all of the resources must remain where the compiler can find them. If you move or rename the folder and the compiler will complain and not add the bitmaps to the executable.

That is one of the hardest things to remember before finally getting the hang of embedding stuff. :)
