Scrolling and highlighting

Well, I think (famous last words) I'm on to the last feature.

When we click on our editor and drag the move down below the rich edit the selection / highlight keeps going, i.e. the rich edit scrolls down and more code is highlighted.

The same can be said when we do the same with the mouse above the rich edit except it scrolls up.

So part of this comes down to that old problem - how do I detect when the mouse is above / below the rich edit control?

And how would I go about keeping the scrolling / highlighting going?

I also have to bare in mind that the code being highlighted is probably not coloured so I have to do this first before highlighting.

The highlighting seems to be built in - is there a way I can control this?

Any thoughts, tips, ideas are very welcome!
