Title: Any tutorials that would be a good starting point for kids?
Post by: Steven Picard on September 04, 2007, 09:59:37 AM
Were there any tutorials for IBStd that were good enough for teaching children between 11 and 13?  I would like to teach my two oldest Creative BASIC but it would be nice to have a good starting point.  I originally planned on doing that back when I bought IBStd but I was pushing my luck a little (my kids were a little too young then :))

Would Jerry or Graham have anything like that?

*crossing fingers*

Here's a hasty reprise of an introduction to programming I did a while back ..  :)

I've tried to reference it to CBasic, but bear with me if I've missed the odd reference to older languages ..

best wishes, :)

For any German users, here's the user guide written by an unknown contributor.

I don't know German so I can't check it ..  :)

Also I'm not sure how up to date it is - but hopefully it will be helpful ..

best wishes, :)

I've found something on an old CD ..  :)

Several years ago, two French users began a translation of the IB user guide into French.
Unfortunately, I seem to remember they didn't proceed once IB Pro appeared.

So what this document is I've no idea ..  :)

It could be my awful attempt at computer translation - or it might be a 'proper' translation ..  ;D

Maybe if a true Frenchman could take a peep - and if he chokes on his croissant - it will be my rubbish translation.
If he smiles - maybe its a useful guide - but will need tidying up .. :)

best wishes, :)

Graham

Do you really Peter? .. excellent  :)

So what is it? .. my PC's drunken attempt at translation .. or is it readable? ::)

Sorry Graham, i have not opened the file yet as my last OS installation is very recent and i have not installed the appropriate program yet "WORD" to open the file.
I tried to open it with the built-in microsoft wordpad, but it failed.
I will as soon as i put my hand on my copy of Office .
