I downloaded the 3 versions of IWBasic that I paid for and tried them
on 3 windows systems 98, 2000, and Win7. Here are the results.
I did manage to write a little program to input 3 numbers, add them,
and display the results with IWbasic 3.0 on Windows 7. That
"hello world" works on all three windows systems as an exe file. Does anyone
know how to make IWbasic work on Win98, or should it? or how about
another version, like 3.0-1, or 2.5-1 running on win2000?

win7 All 3 Versions of IWBasic work on Windows 7
2.5 1

2.095

3.0-1

When a program is loaded and "debug" is selected
the program crashes. It was explained to me that this was because
IWBasic V 3.0-1 does not yet have a debugger.
Thanks in advance for any guidance on this!
My opinion is that it only needs to run on Windows 7 and Windows 10. Windows 7, as I understand things, is the oldest version to be supported and Windows 10, like it or not, is the future.
Hi,
The original IBasic (and it's later version Creative Basic) ran on Win 95 and all subsequent OS versions.
It's successor, EBasic, supported Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP,Vista, and Win 7. (probably subsequent versions).
However, you had to load a copy of d3drm.dll in order for DirectX programs to work from Win 7 onwards, since Microsoft kindly left this library out of it's new and improved offerings.
I believe there is a problem with Midi music programs in Win 8, since again Microsoft failed to provide support it.
I can't speak for IWBasic requirements - I stick to Windows XP, and it seems to work with that OS.
Best wishes, :)
Graham
windows XP is the best windows OS ever..
ok 10 is future and should work fine ..i think far more than 8.
