Title: How to stop IE from opening an external web page
Post by: Andy on April 25, 2010, 12:46:15 AM
Hi everyone,

I'm testing the Browers_test example and I have one question about it,

I notice that when you click on an external link in a web page Internet Explorer opens - is there any way to stop this and have the
Browers_test program open it instead ?

I think I might have to change the registry for this one ?

Can anyone help me please.

Thanks,
Andy.

I dont know the english terms for thi, because I am using a setup with norwegian language, but this is what I would do:

Start IE and open the Tools Menu.
Click "Alternatives for the Internet"     ...(or something similar)
Click "Programs"
Check the Box "IE is not default browser"

Thats all.... Good luck!

Thanks Egil,

No I can't find anything in IE, so now i give them 20 seconds to copy and paste the external web address into the browser_test browser before i force IE to close with a vb script.

any more suggestions from anybody ?

Thanks everyone,

Andy.
