Why is different in XP?

Hi,

I've written an alternative program uninstaller (like Programs and Features - Add/Remove programs) and I'd like to post it in user offerings just in case it's of any use to someone.

However,
In XP, it doesn't behave correctly.

It simply keeps updating the screen, in Win7 it works as I expect it to - why?

The program populates listboxes with a list of programs that can be uninstalled
A timer starts and counts up how many programs are listed, if the count is different (a program has been uninstalled), the list is re-populated.

This "seems" to work in Win7 okay, but XP just keeps re-populating the screen.

Anyone any ideas why?

You will need both files to compile it - see attached.

Thanks,
Andy.

Just tried this on the laptop with win7, and I get the same problem,
so I must have missed something.

I will check over the code and post it when it's fixed.

Andy.

Okay, it was me as usual!

Fixed the code and you can find it in "User offerings".

Just another little handy tool should you ever need it.

Thanks,
Andy.
