Heres a game I started quite some time ago called They Came From The 50s.

Its a black and white "shoot the UFO" type game using Direct2D.

It features a nice paralax scroller, and some 3D rendered sprites.

It is a playable version, but is far from being completed. 

I was using the Options screen to work out some UFO attack patterns in case anyone was wondering.

Feel free to ressurect this now dead project, or pick through it for pieces you can use.
